How to Play:
Kalida is a game of strategy, played on a 6x6 grid. Players take turns placing their markers (X or O) on the board.
The goal is to place five markers in a row, column, or diagonal.
Unique Features:
- Wrap: The board "wraps around" at the edges. This means:
- The left edge connects to the right edge
- The top edge connects to the bottom edge
- Bounce (Optional): When enabled, diagonals can also "bounce" off edges to form a winning line. A bounced diagonal changes direction but continues the line. Up to two bounces are allowed per winning line. Each square can only be counted once in a winning pattern (no revisiting squares).
- Missing Teeth (Optional): When enabled, a winning line cannot have any gaps or opponent's pieces in it when on a full row or column. However, wrapping lines can still have gaps.
Match Scoring System:
- Round Wins: Each time a player wins a game, they get a point in the Round Wins counter.
- Match Win: A player wins a match when they reach 8 round wins AND have at least 2 more wins than their opponent.
- Matches Won: After winning a match, the player's Match counter increments by one.
- Example: If Player X has 8 wins and Player O has 7 wins, the match continues until either Player X reaches 9 wins (winning by 2) or Player O catches up.
Have fun!
